Involucramiento comunitario en la proteccion del Parque Nacional Celaque, Honduras

Año tras año, muchas comunidades del departamento de Lempira, sector Este del Parque Nacional Montaña de Celaque, en coordinacion con organizaciones e instituciones ambientalistas, como MAPANCE, ICF, suman sus esfuerzos para la construccion y mantenimiento de 50 km de rondas preventivas corta fuego que blindan mas de 8000 hectareas de bosques de pino encino y las especies que viven ahi. Mas de 3000 personas dedican un dia a la proteccion de los recursos naturales en compensacion a los servicios ambientales principalmente el agua que obtienen de esas zonas de microcuenca.
